Teaching English Online: Privacy, Security and Safety Course, July 21-23

RELO Belgrade announces the free online course Teaching English Online: Privacy, Security and Safety, with EL Specialist Elizabeth Plummer. The course will consist of three, live, one-hour webinars and aims to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to make online instruction safer and more responsible.  

Dates: July 21, 22, 23, T-TH,  2020.
Time: 16:00-17:00, GMT +2

Topics covered will include:
  • the importance of digital privacy
  • who collects private information, how and why
  • methods for reducing digital footprints
  • how to mitigate risks for students and integrate privacy into courses
  • awareness-raising activities to use with students
Short bio of Elizabeth

Elizabeth Plummer has been teaching the English language for more than 17 years and providing teacher professional development for the past 7 years.  She specializes in online language education, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), teacher development, and quantitative research methodology. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Iowa in Foreign Language and ESL Education, was a 2018-2020 English Language Fellow in South Africa, and loves engaging in the language of crafting and giving high-fives.

Certificate

Teachers who participate in all three one-hour webinars will have access to a self-sign e-certificate, to which they can add their names and self-certify their participation.
