Dear colleagues,
Welcome back to the new school year, filled with many uncertainties for everyone in our profession but at the same time many new avenues to be explored.
As we mentioned in our July issue, TESOL-SPAIN would like to offer our members the chance to take part in two new ventures this term. The first of these, the Social and Emotional Learning 3-part mini-course, led by Mónica Rodriguez Salvo, begins on Saturday 12th September with the session entitled “Introduction to Social and Emotional Learning and Self-awareness”. Look out for details of how to register for this online course below.
The second new venture is offered by Dr. Daniel Brint who joined the Board in Salamanca, after many years as a friend of, and collaborator with TESOL-SPAIN. The TESOL-SPAIN 4-part teacher-training series on Exploiting Visual Resources kicks off next month talking about “Animated content”. You can read more about what Daniel has in store for us below, and there will be details on how to join in next month’s issue of our newsletter.
An annual event that TESOL-SPAIN supports across the country every September, the British Council Teachers’ Conference, has moved online this year, but nonetheless, we would like to show our support for the event and encourage all our members to sign up and join them on Saturday 26th.
Our own annual convention is taking shape and you can read a little more about what is being planned for March 2021. Our Call for Papers will remain open till October 15th, so you still have time to send in a proposal!
Whether you are donning your mask and gel or switching your laptop back on in preparation for the new academic year, everyone at TESOL-SPAIN wishes you the best.
