About the presenter:
Dr. Neil Anderson is Professor Emeritus at Brigham Young University–Hawaii. His extensive research interests include foreign language reading, language learning strategies, learner self-assessment, motivation in language teaching, and leadership development in English language education. He has authored or co-authored over 50 books, chapters, and scholarly articles and is the recipient of TESOL’s prestigious James Alatis Service Award (2014).

Workshop Highlights:
In this interactive session, participants will explore practical uses of AI for creating reading materials and improving comprehension skills. Activities will include:

  • Evaluating the pros and cons of using ChatGPT in classroom settings.
  • Creating reading texts and comprehension questions using ChatGPT 3.5 and refining texts using the ER Central Online Graded Text Editor.
  • Analysing the activities to assess their potential classroom application.
