In celebration of Užička Gimnazija’s 185th anniversary, the school’s foreign language teachers organized a unique literary competition across six languages—English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish. The theme, “The Door / La porta / Die Tür / La porte / Дверь / La puerta,” invited students to reflect on an old, splintered wooden door at the school and imagine what lies behind it. Whether in prose or verse, students creatively explored the world beyond the door, bringing it to life with both literal and figurative language.
