Reading Between the Lines: A Multimodal Journey
Can you read? Can our students read? The answer is probably yes. But what if I tell you that you/they do not have (or at least not yet) the skills necessary for reading in the 21st century? In this talk, I will look at reading in a multimodal world and how we can support our learners on their journey into the brave new world of multimodal texts.
Aleksandra Popovski is a teacher and teacher trainer with a strong passion for language education. She holds an MA in Professional Development for Language Education from the University of Chichester, where she deepened her knowledge and skills in the field. Her interests include incorporating visual arts into language teaching, exploring effective reading comprehension strategies, and creating original readers for her students. With her expertise and enthusiasm, Aleksandra is committed to helping her students succeed and grow as language learners. Aleksandra is the current Vice President of IATEFL – International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.
We are excited to welcome Aleksandra to be a part of the 2023 ELTA Serbia Conference and look forward to sharing her work with us!
