Stories from EVE Mentoring

Stories from EVE Mentoring

Six years of mentoring create more than professional development. They create conversations, confidence, new opportunities, lasting connections and, occasionally, the kind of advice that stays with someone long after the mentoring meetings have ended.

As EVE Mentoring celebrates its sixth year, it is inviting former mentees and mentors to help capture some of those experiences in a new e book, provisionally titled Stories from EVE Mentoring.

The collection will bring together personal reflections on what mentoring has meant to the people who experienced it, both as mentors and mentees. It might be a story about an unexpected turning point, a professional success, a relationship that continued beyond the programme, or simply the moment when mentoring started to feel genuinely useful.

There is no need to tell the entire story of a mentoring journey. In fact, the invitation encourages contributors to choose one aspect that matters to them and tell it well. Sometimes the smallest moment makes the best story.

Contributions should be no longer than 500 words and may reflect on questions such as:

🌱 How did mentoring feel at the beginning, and what changed by the end?

💡 What was the most valuable part of the experience?

📚 What did the mentoring programme help someone learn or discover?

🤝 Did the mentor and mentee relationship continue afterwards?

🎤 Did the experience lead to a conference presentation, article, leadership opportunity or another professional success?

Accepted stories will be edited by EVE, with the final version shared with the author before publication. Contributors whose stories are selected will also be asked to provide a short biography and headshot.

The collection is planned for electronic publication in spring 2027.

📅 Submission deadline: 30 November 2026
