Nada strongly believes that continuing professional development is of the utmost importance for teachers, and conferences remain one of the best places to meet new colleagues, exchange ideas, and return home with both fresh inspiration and a slightly overfilled notebook. Just as importantly, they are also enjoyable, which should never be underestimated.
The event also marked her first visit to Athens, a city she describes as magical, rich in history, with delicious food, lovely music, and cheerful people. Since March seemed the perfect month for travelling, she chose to make the journey by car, a decision that surprised many of the colleagues she met at the conference. She arrived a day earlier, which allowed her to stroll through the streets, enjoy the local food, and admire the city’s architecture.
On Friday evening, she was warmly welcomed by the TESOL Greece Board and its President, who organised a walking tour through the heart of the city. The evening continued with a lovely dinner in Plaka, the bohemian area of Athens. Alongside excellent food, the hosts added an extra touch of local spirit with traditional Greek dancing. Many joined in, and the atmosphere was warm, lively, and memorable.
