ELTA Serbia is delighted to announce that Languages United will be a Gold Plus Sponsor of the 24th ELTA Serbia International Conference, taking place in Belgrade on 15 and 16 May 2026, with not one but two exciting opportunities for the conference community. This year, Languages United is offering a main professional development prize for one teacher and a student competition prize for a student nominated by an ELTA Serbia member. It is a generous contribution, and one that adds both excitement and real value to the event.
The main prize is a Languages United Summer School Experience Week in Bath, created as a teacher professional development opportunity. The prize is intended for one English teacher attending the ELTA Serbia Conference 2026, and the winner will be awarded in person.
The winner may choose one of three available Sunday-to-Sunday weeks in July 2026. The options are 5 to 12 July, 12 to 19 July, and 19 to 26 July. The prize includes homestay accommodation with a host family, daily breakfast and dinner, and a packed lunch at school. It also includes morning lesson observations from 9:30 to 13:00, two or three times per week, depending on the summer timetable, together with an afternoon activities programme, three evening activities on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, one half-day excursion on Thursday, one full-day excursion on Saturday, and a bus pass for local travel in Bath.
The prize does not include flights, airport transfers, or travel insurance, which must be arranged by the winner. The prize is non-transferable, with no cash alternative, and valid only for the listed July dates. The winner must be present when the prize is drawn, or a redraw will take place. The winner is also responsible for ensuring that valid travel documents are in place and for meeting UK entry requirements.
Alongside this, Languages United is also offering a student competition open to ELTA Serbia members, who may nominate their students for the chance to win one week of Summer School at Languages United in Bath in summer 2026. Teachers should email Languages United to register their school and student participants. They will then receive the entry pack, consent form, and upload link.
Students are invited to record a 3-minute video titled “English and me”, explaining what English means to them and how it connects to their life, interests, future goals, travel, music, sport, gaming, friendships, and more. The final video, preferably in MP4 format, should be submitted via the upload link together with the completed entry form. The deadline is 1 May 2026 at 12 noon UK time; late entries will not be considered; Languages United teachers will select the winner by 13 May 2026; and the winner will be announced at the ELTA Serbia Conference in May 2026.
The student winner will attend one week in July 2026, subject to availability, with a choice of weeks commencing 6 July, 13 July, or 20 July. The prize covers 15 hours of tuition per week, full-board accommodation with a host family, a full programme of afternoon activities, one half-day excursion, and one full-day excursion. It does not cover travel to England, transfers to Bath, travel insurance, pocket money, or optional extras.
