Following the very positive response to the survey, EVE (Equal Voices in ELT) and ELTA Serbia are launching another round of the leadership mentoring programme. This year, eight selected Serbian female classroom teachers will be trained to become confident and professional conference presenters.
Selected participants will receive mentoring from EVE ELT mentors over three months. The mentoring is designed to build the skills needed to present at international online conferences and local professional development events.
ELTA Serbia’s goal is to empower Serbian teachers to share their expertise locally and internationally. Many colleagues are innovating brilliantly in their classrooms, but may be less visible because they feel shy or lack confidence in public speaking. This programme is designed to change that by bringing strong classroom practice to the forefront and supporting teachers to share their work with clarity and confidence.
By highlighting successful classroom teachers and strengthening their presentation skills, ELTA Serbia hopes to showcase the excellent work happening across Serbia and inspire others who may feel intimidated to step into the spotlight and share their stories.
The successful candidate must be an active ELTA member based in Serbia and should have:
- Experience as a classroom teacher, preferably in a rural area, noting that connectivity issues may be a challenge
- Evidence of active participation in a local teacher community or teacher association, such as initiating a project or leading a teacher club
- Willingness to learn and receive critical feedback to improve performance
- Commitment to cascade the training by sharing it with teachers in their school or community
- Internet connectivity that allows participation in online mentoring
