Third Plenary Speaker Announced: Gregg Sotiropoulos

ELTA Serbia is delighted to announce the third plenary speaker for the 24th ELTA Serbia International Conference: Gregg Sotiropoulos. ✨

Gregg’s journey in education began in 1996 as an elementary school teacher in New York and has since grown into an extensive career in teaching, training, and academic consultancy. His educational philosophy is rooted in filotimo, a Greek word that captures the spirit of doing good with kindness, integrity, and heart. For Gregg, education should not only build skills but also shape lives. 💛📚

His plenary session, Harnessing the Keystone Mindset: Building Bridges Through Mutuality, invites a fresh perspective on what really moves learning forward. What if the most powerful tool in English teaching is not methodology, technology, or even language itself, but mindset, specifically a keystone mindset of mutuality? 🧠✨

The keynote encourages teachers to rethink teaching not as the export of expertise, but as the expansion of connection. Mutuality is described as the deliberate practice of interdependence, where teachers and students co-construct meaning, speak to each other rather than at each other, and classrooms become rehearsal spaces for a more connected world. Because bridges are not built from just one side. 🌍🤝

And English, at its best, is not just a subject. It is shared space. So, let’s strengthen the keystone together!
