ELTA Serbia is happy to introduce the second plenary speaker for the 24th ELTA Serbia International Conference. ✨🏛️
Jan Witek is an experienced English language teacher and educational innovator with over 25 years in education. He specialises in modern, engaging teaching approaches that develop both linguistic and social competencies. For many years, he has been associated with Pearson, where he serves as a Senior Learning Consultant, supporting teachers in designing effective and inspiring language-learning strategies. 📚💡
His plenary session, Solutions You Can Apply Tomorrow: Practical Pathways Bridging Worlds of English Learning, responds to a simple truth: rapid global change is reshaping what learners need, and teachers are asked to build far more than language accuracy. The keynote explores how educators can develop future competencies such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and learner autonomy, then translate those expectations into practical classroom decisions. 🧠🤝
With a focus on clear learning objectives, meaningful tasks, and evidence-informed feedback, the session presents a coherent learning pathway that connects teaching, assessment, and learner progress. Using the Global Scale of English (GSE) as a shared reference point, participants will see how to design learning experiences that support language development and broader competencies. Expect practical strategies teachers can apply immediately to make learning more visible, purposeful, and sustainable in everyday classroom practice. ✅✨
Jan holds degrees in English Philology and American Studies from the University of Łódź in Poland. He has contributed to educational development projects in Poland, Mongolia, and Georgia, and is widely recognised for creativity and for building meaningful bridges between cultures and educational systems. 🌉🌍
