This year, the 30th IATEFL Slovenia International Conference gathered English language teachers from across Europe, offering a valuable opportunity for professional development in the picturesque town of Moravske Toplice. Nada Filipović from Šabačka Gimnazija in Šabac attended the event, accompanied by her colleague, Jelena Spasić, the ELTA international coordinator and a board member.
Their journey began on a rainy March day, filled with anticipation. Upon arriving at the beautiful Terme Vivat hotel, the inviting atmosphere immediately promised wonderful experiences ahead. The warmth of the welcome, the luxurious setting, and especially the captivating plenary session delivered by Milan Mandeljc set an inspiring tone for the conference.
The highlight of their first evening was undoubtedly the international gathering, where teachers from twelve different countries came together to exchange ideas, experiences, and laughter over delicious global cuisine. These meaningful connections reminded Nada of the very essence of teaching—community, collaboration, and continual growth.
Events like this remind educators what truly motivates them: the opportunity to grow professionally, exchange innovative ideas, and build lasting connections that enrich their personal and professional journeys.
