ELTA (English Language Teachers’ Association) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation committed to promoting excellence in English language teaching in Serbia.
ELTA is proud to be affiliated with two internationally recognised associations, IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) and TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages). Our journey began in 2003 when we merged two of the most prominent English teachers’ associations of the time, ELTAB (English Language Teachers’ Association of Belgrade) and YELTA (Yugoslav English Language Teachers’ Association). This strategic merger aimed to combine our collective expertise, efforts, and energy to better accomplish our mission.
At ELTA, we bring together primary and secondary English teachers, higher education educators, language school professionals, English students, as well as individuals with an interest in ensuring excellence in English language teaching.
We invite teachers across the country to join the ELTA network. Whether you seek information about upcoming seminars and workshops in your region, opportunities to actively participate in ELTA, or general inquiries about our organisation, we are here to provide the support and resources you need.
As a teacher, your unique perspective empowers you to play a crucial role in organising events and fostering collaboration among educators in your school or town. You understand better than anyone else what is required to elevate English language education in your community.
